had girls outing at east coast park.

haha. riding bikes. thank God for stopping the rain. =)
well. i rode on doubles with rui yi.
lol. it was. well. interesting...
i mean, we needed 10 mins to actually get started!
haha. we were trying so many different ways to actually start riding!
finally, after a wobbly start, we were fine.
biked for about half an hour then stopped to rest.
switched and i rode on doubles with elaine.
haha. she spent most of the time screaming!!
my poor poor ears... they suffered oh so much.
well. we then biked to a jetty, rested, then it began to rain!!
so we all rushed to take cover!
haha. after that continued to bike on a single.
by the end of the day, my butt ached like anything...
but it was great!
haha. we then trooped down to subway for dinner at 5 plus!!!
i had a 6-inch chickn teriyaki plus double choc cookie!!

haha. guess what?
i quit the job.
turns out that it was all a lie.
they didnt deliver what they promised.
in reality, i'd be working 45 hours weekly,
while getting only approx $2 an hour.
haha. so much for getting a good job.
oh well. at least i learnt something from their training today!!
haha. and like what the trainer told us,
"dont let your past affect you!"
haha.
the irony of it all.
haha.
i think i'm going mad.
haha?

A JOB!!!

woohoo!

ok i know this sounds crazy. i actually am happy to get a job!

haha. its really quite cool and the company deals in nanotechnology!

so let me introduce my job...well, basically, i'll be undergoing training in 2 areas.

first is as a sales promoter, second as an events coordinator.

training hours are kinda long...

11am-7pm on weekdays, 1pm-6pm on saturdays.

but after a week of training, i'll be sent to one of the sectors!!

then i'll be working 4 hr shifts, 3 days a week.

that's when the real money comes in!

whee!!

but its not the money i'm really after.

though it is a good incentive...

woohoo.

thank God for the interview that went well.

at first i thought they would not hire me cuz they said they prefer long term.
but oh well. =)

after the interview, went to lunch with carmen...

the thing that disturbs and infurates me the most is when i am wrongly accused.
please dont assume that you know all that's going on,
and assume that you are always right.
then when you say something that isnt true,
you create a big mess and the poor person has to clarify matters and clean up after you.
spare a thought for other people's feelings!
dont say something you assume is right.
lest you hurt someone's feelings and tarnish the person's reputation.
be sensitive.
consider other people's feelings.
lesson learnt: get your facts right before you say anything.
but better still, dont say anything at all!

a mess created by others.

it hurts me so bad.

on tuesday, had dinner with mabel, beng and don at the airport before sending alodie off. first, we headed to fish and co for dinner. they insisted on treating me cuz i am leaving. so it was a farewell dinner with them cuz beng has to go army after his holidays, so no more time...

well, during the meal, i accidentally lit my marshmellow on fire!
and i immediately stuck it into a bowl of melted ice cream to put it out.
(aint i a genius? =) haha.)
well, wee beng was so fascinated with fire,
he wanted to set one on fire too!!

finally, before we went to find alodie...

well, the next day, i went to the beach with my children's camp group. my sis tagged along, as the camera woman. well, the weather was great when we arrived at the beach. the first game we played was dog and bone! children against helpers.

after lunch, we sent the kids to the bus stop. after which darren, shawn, jie xuan, samuel, my sis and i headed back to cycle and roller blade. well, i wanted to learn how to roller blade and samuel was willing to teach. so i rented blades for an hour and got an additional hour free! the rest got bikes. well the moment i got into the blades, i rolled downhill. not wanting to fall on cement, i veered off into the grass. "omph!" i fell with my eyes shut tight. all the while mean samuel laughed at me. hurr. well, i got off on a shaky start and started wobbling my way down the bicycle path. well, i was taking a really really long time so darren decided to take me on tow. he cycled and a hung on for dear life. eveything was going on fine until he reached a hump. we went up alright. it was the coming down. my legs started to give way and i shouted a word to darren. "STOP!" well, he couldnt do it on time. so he dragged me along the path before coming to a halt. thank God for knee guards! i dont want to imagine what would happen if i didnt put those things on! well after that i fell another 2 times. both times on my butt. grr. it hurt loads. but oh well, i kept getting up. until i reached a mega high slope and well, i freaked out. in the end, i took off my skates and walked back to where we rented them. the rest went on ahead except for darren. he stayed behind to accompany me. thanks captain! =) i took half an hour to walk back when i took an hour to skate there! man. i'm slow. sigh. after the tiring trip, we all trooped down to seven eleven to get a cold drink. after that, we all went home. sigh. i'm contented. really.

christmas lights?
santa claus?
candy canes?
little elves?
rudolf the rednose reindeer?
or the oh-so-cute carollers?

no. it's much more than these. the true meaning of christmas is Jesus. however, as years go by, the meaning of christmas has been so diluted... christmas is the day the Jesus came down as flesh and was born in a manger. christmas isn't about some jolly old man,who uses rudolf to show the way and slides down chimmneys and places presents under the tree when everyone is asleep. neither is it about the pretty christmas lights, carolling or sweet candy canes. nor is it about little elves who work so hard in toy factories where santa lives.
year after year after year, we go through the same routine. there's the mad rush to that store to get the things we want at that ridiculous price. we walk down roads and gasp and gape and the majestic and pretty lights. and we give away cards and presents regilously. dont get me wrong, i'm not against that. the thing that makes it so revolting is the fact that people give something to gain something else. they give to gain friends, they give to gain popularity. they give to get something else in return.
christmas is the time the we remember God for His grace and goodness. not that we only do it once a year! christmas should be the time we spread God's love publicly. christmas is the time to give. just like how God gave His son to die for our sins. not expecting anything in return. God gave us one gift. the bestest gift ever. that gift was baby Jesus. of course it wont be a gift unless you accept it.
if you're so willing to accept gifts from us, humans, who may have an ulterior motive, why wont you accept the gift from a loving Father? a gift from Someone who loves us beyond all measure. a gift with NO strings attached? think about it kor. =) and may this christmas be one like no other.

i predict that this postwill be a long one... haha. ok. i went to the zoo with my church friends last wednesday... hehe. i know i'm slow, but i had absolutely no time to post about it!! had cantata practice on thursday till very late... and had cantata on friday and saturday!

anyways, i think the zoo looks WAY better now!! its just so exotic looking now. well, the animal shows though... were a little boring. the shows last time were better. but i shant complain!! well, i really enjoyed the trip. well, now, here comes the pictures!!!
